03/2011 - Present - Canby Public Library, City of Canby, Canby, OR
Reference / Access Services Librarian - (03/2012 – Present) Librarian at small urban library located in Portland metro area. Select, maintain, and evaluate Adult Nonfiction Book and Visual collections. Responsible for approximately $14,000 Adult Nonfiction Book and Visual collection budget.  Catalog all new materials.  Evaluate and manage book donations.  Lead reference services. Supervise service desk staff, acting as a Person In Charge one day a week. Troubleshoot all computer and technology issues and act as primary contact between library network staff and city IT staff. Plan and present programming including bilingual conversation group and beginning computer and ebook classes in Spanish and English.  At least 30% of work week at public service desk providing readers advisory, reference services, computer assistance, and account management in both English and Spanish. Partner with Canby service organizations and school district to provide services and conduct library outreach. Represent CPL at network wide Reference, Automation, and Technology Services committees. Provide professional support to library director and all other library staff. 
Bilingual Spanish/English Librarian - (03/2011 – 02/2012) – One year grant funded position to lead the library's efforts to serve Spanish-speakers, concentrating on collection development and evaluation, acquisitions and collection budget allocation, outreach, marketing, programming (adult, family, and children), computer instruction, cataloging, community partnerships, and training other staff members in best practices. Evaluated and reorganized all Spanish-language collections, Homework Center collection, and Reference collection. Draft Programming Annual Plan, Collection Development Policy, and Marketing Plan for Spanish-speaking/Latino service population. Responsible for approximately $15,000 Spanish-language collection budget and selection as well as some English-language adult nonfiction.  Increased circulation of Spanish-language collections by 30% over last year, increased attendance by Spanish-speakers at library events, increased library visibility in Canby Latino community.  Link to LSTA Grant Final Report and Peer Evaluation.

Digital Collections and Technical Services Librarian – Select, Digitize, Catalog (included some original cataloging), and Provide access to local historical documents, books, and photographs as part of the Montana Memory Project and BSB Flickr image collection. 10/2007 - 04/2008 - Connecting to Spanish Speakers @ Your Library: Empowering Staff to Reach Out to Spanish Speakers and Increase Their Access to a World of Information – Present seven full-day workshops to Montana Library community with another state trainer. Workshops focus on diversity training, outreach to Spanish speakers, holding Spanish language computer classes, and marketing. Work is in conjunction with the Gates Foundation, WebJunction, OCLC, Montana State Library and the Bozeman Public Library Foundation.
